Skill Assessment

Skill Assessments are granted by specific and relevant skill assessing bodies. A skill assessing body is an organisation that ensures that your skills meet the government standard set in a relevant field of occupation. The list of all eligible skilled occupations is combined under four occupation lists. Most occupations, under these lists, have their own skills assessing authority. The visa issuing authority can only accept assessments issued by the relevant assessing body. Obtaining a skill assessment is mandatory for some visa subclasses and streams and may be required for others. Each assessing body has its own assessment procedures, charges and timelines.
